Microsoft OneDrive API

OneDrive in your operational context – not as a personal cloud where project files are scattered across individual accounts.

Connecting OneDrive – Customized and Seamless

Microsoft OneDrive is the cloud storage within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – used for personal and shared file storage, document collaboration, and file synchronization. OneDrive becomes relevant for operationally complex companies when files should not remain in personal cloud folders – but function as an integrated part of operational processes, customer records, and case management. We integrate Microsoft OneDrive into custom corporate software. No off-the-shelf standard connection, no limited plug-in – but a tailored integration that fits your processes and your system precisely.

What We Connect

Integration Possibilities
🔄Automatically synchronize files between OneDrive and the central system
📊Represent document usage, sharing, and versioning in overarching reporting
📄Automatically assign project documents, contracts, and attachments to the correct case
Event-driven workflows – e.g., start approval process for new documents, notify team upon changes
🔗Bi-directional data exchange between OneDrive, ERP, CRM, DMS, project management, and other systems

How the Integration Works

We work directly with the Microsoft Graph API – DriveItems, Permissions, Subscriptions, and Delta Queries. The integration is developed as a core part of your Operating System – no third-party middleware, no workaround. What this means concretely:

🏗️Customized integration – built for your processes, not for the average
🔄Automatic data flow – no manual uploads, downloads, or file searches
🗄️A single data repository – OneDrive documents are part of your central case history
🛡️Secure and GDPR compliant – Azure AD authenticated, granular permissions, and documented

Typical Use Case

A consulting firm with 50 employees uses OneDrive for project files. Each consultant has their own OneDrive folder with their own structure. Email attachments are sometimes saved, sometimes not. When an employee leaves the company, their project files are only accessible with IT assistance. Through the integration, the correct folder structure is automatically created in OneDrive when a project is established. Email attachments are assigned to the appropriate project. In the Operating System, the project manager sees all documents in context – alongside tasks and milestones. Changes trigger notifications. OneDrive transitions from personal storage to a structured part of the operational system.

Part of Your Operating System

OneDrive is a powerful cloud storage solution – deeply embedded in the Microsoft ecosystem. However, used in isolation, it remains a personal file storage without operational context. Only as part of an integrated system does OneDrive realize its full benefit – when files automatically land in the right places and storage exists not alongside the work process but within it. We develop AI-powered Operating Systems for operationally complex companies. The OneDrive integration is one building block of that.
