NASA API

NASA data in your planning – not as a research project conducted manually by someone.

Connecting NASA APIs – Customized and Seamless

NASA provides freely accessible datasets through an extensive API program – including satellite imagery, weather and climate data, natural events, solar radiation, and geospatial data. Companies use this data for applications that extend far beyond space exploration: site analysis, environmental monitoring, energy planning, agricultural and logistics optimization, or risk assessment. For operationally complex companies, NASA data is pertinent when external environmental and geospatial data should not be researched manually – but instead incorporated as automated input into planning processes, forecasting models, and operational decisions. We integrate NASA APIs into customized enterprise software. No pre-made standard connection, no plugin with limitations – just a tailored connection that fits your processes and system exactly.

What We Connect

Integration Options
🔄Automatically retrieve satellite and geospatial data and provide it within the central system
📊Utilize weather, climate, and solar radiation data for site analysis and forecasting models
📄Automatically detect and document natural events – storms, wildfires, floods
Event-driven workflows – e.g., alerts in case of extreme weather in deployment areas or supplier regions
🔗Seamless integration with ERP, scheduling, logistics, energy management, and other systems

How the Integration Works

We work directly with the NASA Open APIs – including EONET (natural events), POWER (weather and energy data), NASA Imagery, DONKI (space weather), and other endpoints depending on the use case. The integration is developed as an integral part of your Operating System – no third-party middleware, no workaround. What this means concretely:

🏗️Customized integration – built for your processes, not for the average
🔄Automatic data flow – no manual research or data downloads
🗄️A unified data foundation – NASA data flows into your central system
🛡️Secure and documented – open data, no licensing costs, transparent data provenance

Typical Use Case

A renewable energy company with 55 employees plans and operates photovoltaic systems at dozens of locations. Until now, an engineer manually researched historical irradiation values for each new site, downloaded datasets, and compared them in Excel with actual yield data. With 15 new projects per quarter, this is becoming increasingly tedious. Through the integration, the Operating System automatically fetches solar radiation data via the NASA POWER API for each location. Irradiation data flows directly into the calculation model. During ongoing operations, the system compares actual yields with expected values – if performance deviates, a verification task is automatically triggered. Additionally, the system monitors natural events in the regions of the existing facilities through EONET and proactively informs management. From site planning to ongoing operations – external data becomes an automated component of operational control.

Part of Your Operating System

NASA APIs provide a unique treasure trove of data – freely accessible, globally covering, and scientifically sound. But used in isolation, this data remains a research project: someone has to know which API delivers the right dataset, download the data, prepare it, and manually incorporate it into their own context. Only as part of an integrated system does NASA data unleash its full operational benefits – when geospatial data automatically flows into planning models, weather events trigger processes, and external data does not just exist beside the company, but works within it. We develop AI-powered Operating Systems for operationally complex companies. The NASA integration is one component of that.
